Written by English poet and novelist Theodora Elizabeth Lynch (1812-1886), who was credited as "Mrs. Henry Lynch" on the work's title page, The Wonders of the West Indies is a novel that recalls "a long life of travel and observation." The novel takes place throughout the Caribbean, featuring accounts detailed accounts of the flora and fauna of islands like Jamaica, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. Published in London by Jerrold and Sons in 1856, this edition features and preface written by Reverend The Lord Bishop of Jamaica.
