Medical Tracts
Creator
Moseley, Benjamin (Author)
Abstract/Description
Published in 1800, Medical Tracts is a second edition "with considerable additions", medical text based on physician Benjamin Moseley's widely popular Treatise on Sugar from 1799. A text like Medical Tracts was a common reproduction of Treatise on Sugar, which was republished and reproduced in various form throughout the 1800s. Moseley, an English born physician, worked in Jamaica from 1768-178 and wrote detailed accounts of Jamaica's land, people, culture, and medicine. Like its original predecessor, Medical Tracts relates stories of his practices and the practices of other physicians as well as, cultural and religious practices such as Obeah. Treatise on Sugar is also available in our archive.
