This embedded slave narrative concerns Oliver, a twenty-two or twenty-three-year-old from Assiantee (Ghana). Oliver, who is also identified as Sang, appears on page 98 of volume two of Bryan Edwards' History, Civil, Commercial of the British West Indies (1793). The narrative includes the history of his sale and details of his life as a young free boy.
