Abstract/Description
This is an eight-volume bound collection of well-acclaimed essays and stories that originally appeared in The Spectator. Published in 1767 in Glasgow, this collection comprises a number of works, notably one of many versions of Richard Steele's The Story of Inkle and Yarico. Founded in 1711, The Spectator has gone through a number of major editorial shifts throughout its history, however,  it still remains as a  popular conservative political magazine in the United Kingdom.
